Join us in this unique 2 day intensive workshop designed to improve your understanding and practice of Mix Media Visual Art through Monotype Printmaking and Encaustic Painting!
What is Encaustic Painting?
Derived from the Greek word “ἐγκαυστικός” which means "burning in." This painting technique involves using heated beeswax, colored pigments and oil paint. Molten medium is applied to a surface to create a distinctive effect.
What is Monotype Printmaking?
Monotyping is a type of printmaking that is made by drawing or painting on a smooth surface that is non-absorbent. This image is then transferred onto a sheet of paper by hand pressing. This process can be repeated by cleaning the surface and reinking.
This class is perfect for all levels of students who want to learn these exclusive and classic ways of creating Mix Media Art.
